If you build it, will they come?

A lot has changed in the Philippine blogosphere in the past 2 years. More and more people are trying to blog these days and not all of them just cashing in on the latest craze. But does the theory of “if you build it, they will come” apply to the current blogosphere climate?

Let’s face it. If someone starts a blog and becomes successful, ultimately, a lot of copycats appear to share in the success that the original has done. It’s like starting a business in your neighborhood that becomes successful and suddenly everyone and their relatives starts their own version just beside your original.

But not all of these copycats succeed. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery they say. and it can only get you so far.

The internet is big enough for anyone to achieve success but what most people don’t realize is you may copy the content, the layout, the style of writing but you will never be able to approximate the passion and work being done by those who actually love doing what they do.

For most of us, just because you built something doesn’t mean people will come in droves to see it. It takes hard work, passion and a love for what your doing to be able to achieve what successful bloggers have already done.
