Performancing Pmetrics Review

Performancing (surprised?) has relaunched their pMetrics blog analytics package and they’re giving away 100 premium accounts. Premium? Yes, apparently this service is free to those below 1000 pageviews a day but those who have more than that need to pay.

So what makes Performancing’s Pmetrics stand out from the crowd?

The first thing i noticed is that the site is fast and loads quickly. Thanks to some web 2.0 wizardry and some sense of usability mixed into the design, the pmetrics user admin page is actually nice to look at. The stats are all lined up neatly and shows you what you need at a glance. I felt like you actually need to click on no more than 2 links to get the specific info that you need. Sites with higher traffic levels are priced at $1 per year per one thousand daily average page view which means i wouldn’t afford it for Codamon.com as i have a couple of hundred K’s in PV’s every month. Thats why I’m hoping i get a 1 year premium account via this review.

Performancing’s Pmetrics is tailored specifically to bloggers so unlike Google’s Analytics tracking service, it also shows more information that would be of use to a blogger, incorporating such data as feedburner stats and rss feeds. The “Spy” tab is particularly nifty, you get to see in real time who is visiting your site and his/her activity. Other features of Pmetrics is standard to any good traffic tracker: keyword tracking, search engine referral, browser, location (country), OS, and even the popular entry and exit pages on your blog.

Improvements would be a easier insertion of the tracking code ala plugins (similar to what TLA is doing) and a crazyegg.com type of integrated hot spots visual tracking system (since they have all that data too anyway).

So is it worth the 1.99USD a month or 14.99USD price tag a year? Well, i would think that the initial packages are ok since Pmetrics basically aggregates all that data from all your usual trackers and presents it in a quick, attractive and easy to read package. Some obstacles imho would be on how to pay for the service from the Philippines, wondering whether this new service will last, and being able to pay for a site that has a couple of hundred K’s in PV’s a month. Thats where the price gets too rich for my blood.

Thanks to Jangelo for the heads up on the new service via twitter.
