Advertising Manager for WordPress

OpenX has released information on their new project named Advertising Manager for WordPress. What is it?

Advertising Manager manages your Google Adsense and other ad network accounts, and allows you to easily place the ads either within your WordPress blog posts, or within your WordPress theme.

It is a new application which allows WordPress users to easily manage their ads inside the WordPress admin console, without the need to consistently modifying your code, or managing a separate application, when you need to change your ads. Perfect for those running a lot of ads on a variety of sites.

Question is: how much additional load will this be on your server as you can opt to use google’s ad manager instead….?

    Hi – Thanks for the post. Advertising Manager for WordPress needs a very small amount of horsepower to run. It is designed for people who do not want to use a full blown adserver to manage their ads (like Google Ad Manager or OpenX Hosted :) )

    I am intending to use Advertising Manager to prepare my blog for running advertising from other sources as well as Google Adsense. For example, I would like to accept one or more “HTML-block” ad units from someone else like a primary sponsor as well as an Adsense ad unit. Could Advertising Manager allow me and other bloggers to permit sponsorship deals like what is done in traditional media?

    That information on Adsense is definitely a MUST HAVE for WordPress bloggers out there. It ultimately encourages people to create blogs and articles with more quality and relevant content while promoting advertisements at the same time!!! Thank you for that significant information. – Pinoy
